GODREJ PROPERTY -MUMBAI

The design brief was to have a thematic “white” only color palette for the interiors and this was a tough call as there had to be a cost conscious selection in the material specifications. The total carpet area is 2300 square feet with an adjoining terrace of 1300 square feet; the terrace serves as an open deck cafeteria and entertainment area, if necessary. However some structural alterations had to be introduced at first. The existing floor level was almost 10 inches below the terrace level and the wrap around terrace parapet level was 4 feet from the office floor plate, thus obstructing great views from the almost 9 feet high windows. So we had to construct a false floor of about a foot high and lay the Glass vitrified tiles on the same. By virtue of the high floor to ceiling height of 13 feet, the false ceiling level has been raised to 9’-6” to accommodate the great views outdoors. The design follows an open floor layout plan with work stations arranged in clusters. The false ceiling has an inverted cove design, integrating, light tracks and air-condition ducts concealed within, thus providing efficient and effective cooling as well as lighting to the work stations. The Regional Manager’s office as well as the Meeting rooms and Conference Rooms have been arranged along the length of the North side adjacent to the Terrace thus providing a pleasant view of the terrace garden from these rooms. The all white color palette gives a more expansive feel to the interiors and to balance the stark look of white there is a lot of indoor plants introduced at various points on the floor to complement the aesthetics.
